UPGRADING THE INFORMATION INFRASTRUCTURE FOR SOCIAL CHANGE
Social change is hard. And in an increasingly complex, interconnected world, it is only getting harder.
But our collective capacity for social change is also stronger. We have millions of organizations, billions of people, and trillions of dollars devoted to social good.
In the face of that complexity, we need to make smart decisions. Smart decisions require having the right information at the right time. That requires smart organization – and generous sharing – of the information we have.
This concept paper offers a vision of a world – and a social sector – capable of tackling the great challenges of our time. It is built on what we have experienced, learned, and observed working in this space, witnessing its successes and its potential.
We don’t pretend to have all the answers. But through this paper we offer our thoughts and the sincere desire to partner with the initiatives, individuals, and organizations currently working to strengthen the social sector. Our goal is not to replicate or replace, but to build on and accelerate.
We look forward to engaging interested parties over the coming months and to bringing together a group of potential partners that share our passion for upgrading the information infrastructure for social change.
We hope that you join us as we work toward a better tomorrow.
